The Maryland Health Connection (administered by the Maryland Health Benefits Exchange) is the health insurance exchange in the U.S. state of Maryland, created in accordance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The marketplace is offered to individuals and families who are not covered through their employers. It allows enrollees to compare health insurance plans and provides those who qualify with access to tax credits. It also provides access to Medicaid enrollment for low-income Marylanders. Enrollment started on October 1, 2013. As of February 1, 2014, 29,059 people had enrolled in private health plans through Maryland Health Connection.
The marketplace is also due to open to small businesses starting in January 2015.

Carolyn Quattrocki, the executive director of Maryland Health Benefit Exchange has recently resigned. Quattrocki was a deputy legislative officer and health policy adviser in the Maryland governor's Legislative Office in the areas of labor, insurance and health care issues. She also worked for Maryland's Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr.
